Coach Kelly has been with Gonzaga since 2000 and was the rugby club's first inductee to the Gonzaga Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition of his efforts to bring rugby in to the mainstream of Gonzaga sports. Gonzaga has won its league championship in all 15 years coach Kelly has been with the program which is the longest and ongoing championship streak in school history. Many milestones have been accomplish during his tenure including International tours, JV and freshman rugby, booster organization, Jesuit Rugby Classic tournament, Purple Eagle Rugby Camp, increase of participants from 30 to over 200, increase in coaches from 3 to 20, 11 appearances in the national championship tournament culminating with the 2014 championship and the annual alumni game. He has also coached the Maryland Exiles, Maryland Old Boys, the University of Maryland and countless local and regional select teams. Coach Kelly is a one of the main organizers of high school rugby in the D.C. area. He played Number 8 at the University of Maryland and with the Maryland Old Boys for 27 years. Both his sons, Brendan ('02) and Connor ('06) attended Gonzaga and excelled at rugby.

Ward is back coaching the freshman for his second year. He played inside center at his high school in Belfast, Northern Ireland and then continued playing in college at Tufts University, as well as in his graduate school years at MIT. Ward previously served as Treasurer of the Rugby Boosters while his son David ('09) played at Gonzaga. Ward works as a chemical engineer at the Environmental Protection Agency.
